Technicolor Mermaids, Anyone?

"Dragonettes."

Not-so-spontaneous painting of some color-rific mermaids. Based on the colors and fins of a rainbow dragonette, and a spotted rainbow dragonette.

I very much like the idea of mermaids that look much more fishy than human. While these aren't quite at the "more fishy than human" design level, I'm more intrigued by the patterns and colors extending up the faces and arms, as opposed to more Little Mermaid sort of designs, where it is 100% human from waist up.

Luminescence - Fishman revisit

If you meander back through my older posts, you'll see my deep see merman painting. I decided to revisit it the other day and do a quick painting, not the best, but I'm warming up the drawing muscles again. I'm going to give him another shot soon, full painting and everything.

Also. GLOW IN THE DARK DREDS. I want them to exist.

Getting back into the painting mode, here is a fresh(ish) look at my face. And a grumpy Zeke.

Prepare to possibly see varying renditions of my visage over the next few days. I'm going to be attempting to try out different styles and re-find my comfort zone. :)
